Off the Peg Assemblies

Chris Stafford's book of 30 assemblies is a boon for the busy teacher - or anyone else who's called upon to take an assembly. Each session is fully worked out and presented in a straightforward format, allowing it to be used 'off the peg' with minimal preparation. There's a theme and Bible-based talk linked to life experiences, and the children are encouraged to think things through and decide how they will react to situations that confront them. Chris Stafford recognises that assemblies are for doing, not just for sitting still and listening, so there are various activities to bring the message to life, including games, drama, stories, prayers and songs.

Off the Peg Assemblies are aimed at KS1 and KS2 and is divided into four distinct sections: biblical characters, the life of Christ, the Lord's Prayer and the environment.
